The following questions are designed to enable our service technicians to assist you in a timely manner when calling MDI for technical support for your MDI Probe 2100.

Please have the following information available:

1.) Company name and location.

2.) Model of Probe:

3.) Serial number of Probe:

Serial numbers are located on the inside wall of the control box case. This area is accessed by removing the battery panel on the back of the control box.

4.) Type of batteries currently in use:

Rechargeable Batteries:

The Probe is supplied with 8 AA industrial duty rechargeable batteries. Should these batteries lose their ability to hold a charge, the voltage will drop and the Probe will exhibit erratic behavior. New AA batteries can be purchased through MDI or any store were rechargeable batteries are sold.

Alkaline Batteries:

The Probe was designed to be used with any type of AA batteries. In the event that the Probe is left on or the batteries are not charged, any AA alkaline batteries can be used.

NOTE: Charging the Probe with Alkaline batteries installed will damage the Probe. If your Probe has been plugged into the charger with AA alkaline batteries installed, it will not function properly.

Lithium Batteries:

Lithium batteries can be used just as the alkaline batteries. Lithium batteries will typically last longer and provide more voltage for a longer period of time.
